He reached down and pulled her up into his arms. “I can handle that.”
He went to kiss her but she turned her head, “Oh no you don’t. You didn’t say yes yet.”
They stared at one another and she loved it when the skin at the corner of his eyes crinkled. “Yes I will marry you Lucy Jacobs. I love you.”
She smiled. “I love you too.”
She reached up, their mouths met, and as the ancient gods of Egypt watched they sealed their love for all eternity.
